General Etiquette

General Etiquette on the Course

DON'T talk, move, or do anything that will distract the attention of the player when he is in the act of playing a stroke.

DON'T delay in calling the following players through when you are searching for a ball or have lost your place in the field because of slow play.

DON'T try missed putts over again -remember those following behind are waiting.

DON'T dawdle between shots -move smartly and minimise practise swinging.

DON'T mark your cards on the green -remember those waiting to play on. Mark cards at the next tee.

DON'T shout or call loudly -remember voices carry and there are other players concentrating on their game.

DON'T hesitate to apologise if you have committed a wrong and accept an apology in the sportsman like manner in which it is given.

BE patient, tactful and pleasant and endeavour to assist those not so knowledgeable as yourself in the game.

PARK buggies conveniently around greens to save time.

CARRY and use sand buckets AT ALL TIMES whilst playing.

REPLACE divots, cover divot with sand and press down.

REPAIR bunkers before leaving. Leave rake with handle placed in line with direction of play.
